Re “Plan to Erect Buddhist Temple Stirs Some Heated Opposition,” July 15: I was saddened to read about the opposition against the planning of a Buddhist temple, not just as a Buddhist but as a human being. It is another case of what people do not understand, they fear and try to destroy. One thing at the core of Buddhism is every speech, action and thought should have compassion and kindness as its motivation. There is truly nothing to fear.
