President Criticizes Cuban ‘Sex Tourism’

Re “Castro Promotes Sex Tourism, Bush Says,” July 17: President Bush is so busy trying to hide all the lies he’s told and all the programs he’s cut that he is now after Fidel Castro for sex tourism. Seems to me it’s just another smoke screen to keep people from thinking about all the things that are going wrong right here in our country.

So, Bush was deeply troubled by Castro’s alleged remark that “Cuba has the cleanest and most-educated prostitutes in the world.” I wonder if he is equally as troubled knowing that many American prostitutes are often crack- and heroin-addicted, abused and disease-ridden.

Bush has declared that Castro promotes sex tourism, based on comments Castro allegedly made in the early 1990s. Based on recent experience, what we need now is corroboration from Tony Blair, followed by Secretary of State Colin Powell showing the United Nations Assembly high-altitude pictures of where this “evil” is taking place. We can then launch a preemptive strike using our highly effective “bunker-busting,” until now, secret weapons. We need to fight terrorism where we find it.
