Re “Baca Sticks to His Guns on Sales Tax Plan,” July 25: Something my friends and I, who plan to vote for the sales tax increase, would like to have assurance about is that the money would go to benefiting the county sheriff’s and the LAPD’s crime prevention operations and not be used for paying those million-dollar settlements for deputy and police officer misconduct.
