Boy, 15, Arrested in Mother’s Killing

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing his mother in their Simi Valley home on Saturday, authorities said.

The boy attacked his mother about 4 p.m. at their ranch-style home in the 1600 block of Blackwall Drive, police said. He then fled in one of the family’s cars. He was arrested about 1 1/2 hours later at a relative’s house, authorities said.

Police late Saturday were interviewing witnesses and declined to identify the boy or his mother. Neighbors said the family -- parents, the son and a younger daughter -- had lived in the home about four years.

Police said other family members were present during the attack.
