A first-year medical resident was stabbed twice in the chest Monday night at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center in Sylmar after coming across a man who was apparently trying to break into a restricted area of the hospital, authorities said.
The resident was on her way to a secure area in the emergency room about 8 p.m. when she noticed a man “fiddling with the keypad to gain access,” said Department of Health Services spokesman John Wallace. The man stabbed her and ran.
He remained at large and the doctor was in stable condition.
