A second Marine has died from injuries suffered in a head-on collision near Ojai more than a week ago.
Robert Edwin Rogers III, who had been stationed at Camp Pendleton, had been in a coma since the accident on the evening of April 23.
The 19-year-old Rogers was a passenger in a car driven by fellow Marine James Lee Dunn Jr. A third Marine, 19-year-old Jared Brian Ellis, also died in the accident. Dunn suffered a concussion and scrapes. The accident occurred on California 150 between Ojai and Santa Paula, when Dunn’s car swerved into the path of an approaching vehicle. The driver of that vehicle suffered minor injuries.
