From Times Wire Reports
Concerned over bird habitats, the California Coastal Commission is trying to regulate the city’s Fourth of July fireworks celebration.
The commission is requiring the Morro Bay Chamber of Commerce, which will put on the $25,000 show, to get a coastal development permit. But the process to obtain a permit could take months, and the city is balking.
The commission wants to protect the Western snowy plover and other species.
