Ex-Airport Official Sentenced for Fraud

The former head of a San Diego airport drug task force has been sentenced to nearly four years in prison and fined $431,000 for lying about his grandmother’s finances.
Stephen Gossman, 44, was sentenced Tuesday on 17 felony counts of money laundering and healthcare fraud. He will begin serving his sentence next month.
Gossman lied about his grandmother’s finances to obtain free medical care for her. The state paid $116,000 for Gossman’s grandmother to live in nursing homes from 1994 to 1998.
