Vonage to Sell Phone Service at RadioShack
- Share via
Vonage Holdings Corp., a closely held telephone company, will sell its Internet-based phone service through stores owned by RadioShack Corp., the third-largest U.S. electronics-store chain.
RadioShack, which is based in Fort Worth, will offer Vonage gear and service plans starting at $14.99 a month at almost 4,000 stores in 38 states.
The agreement gives Edison, N.J.-based Vonage a wider base for its service, which transmits calls over broadband Internet connections and home phones more cheaply than over copper-wire connections.
Shares of RadioShack fell 26 cents to $29.41 on the NYSE.
