Re “Ex-FBI Agent Pleads to a Lesser Charge in Spy Case,” May 13: Our judicial system has reached a new low when former FBI Agent James J. Smith can plead guilty to lying to the federal government about his involvement with an informant [accused of being a double agent] and then plea-bargain to avoid jail time. They’d better not send Martha Stewart to prison!
