Fullerton Woman Killed When SUV Overturns

A Fullerton woman was killed and a La Habra woman hospitalized Sunday when their vehicle overturned on Interstate 10 near Palm Springs, authorities said.
Nicole Melendrez, 18, was declared dead at the scene about 4 p.m. after the sport-utility vehicle struck the median and flipped. The driver, April Jean Daily, 19, was taken to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs with lacerations to her legs and face.
A second passenger -- Sarah Sout, 18, also of La Habra and the only one wearing a seat belt -- suffered minor injuries.
