Update -- Sele began the season with a 5-10 career record and 3.72 ERA against the Yankees, but he had success in New York on Wednesday, limiting the Yankees to two runs and six hits in six innings of an 11-2 Angel victory. Kenny Lofton (.450, three homers, 13 RBIs) and Alex Rodriguez (.378, three homers, 10 RBIs) have hit Sele well. Vazquez gave up five runs and six hits in 7 1/3 innings that night to take the loss. The Angels were held without an extra-base hit for the first time in Sunday night’s 4-0 loss to Baltimore. Right fielder Vladimir Guerrero leads the American League with 35 runs and is batting .344 with eight home runs, 13 doubles and 28 RBIs.
