Time short for a special store

I appreciate Amber Tamblyn’s love of hearing poetry at Beyond Baroque and other creative venues [My Favorite Weekend, May 13]. But when she mentions “there’s always Midnight Special bookstore ...” I must sadly inform her that the aforementioned shop in Santa Monica’s unique song will be silenced forever in a couple of weeks. Far from being there “always,” there will “nevermore” be such a vital community asset, a loss of much more than poetry, which of course is saying a lot.
