The San Francisco Zoo next weekend will open a three-acre, $18-million African Savanna exhibit with giraffes, zebras, ostriches, storks and more.
Visitors can prowl observation decks and paths, including an open-sided, 60-foot-long covered passageway that crosses through the habitat, affording close-up views (animals are enclosed).
Zoo admission is $10 adults, $7 ages 12 to 17, $4 ages 3 to 11, free for those 2 and younger. The zoo is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. (415) 753-7080, www.sfzoo.org.
