Dutton’s Pass Gets Colorado Into Playoffs

John Dutton threw a 10-yard touchdown pass to Willis Marshall with one second left to give the Colorado Crush a 45-42 victory over the Detroit Fury in front of 5,614 at Auburn Hills, Mich.

Colorado (10-5) clinched a playoff berth and tied a record for best single-season turnaround in Arena Football League history. Last season, the expansion Crush finished 2-14.

Detroit had an opportunity to tie, but a 61-yard field goal attempt by Mark Lewis fell short as time expired.

Damian Harrell caught 13 passes for 208 yards and three touchdowns for the Crush.

Andy Kelly threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns for the Fury (4-11), which has lost seven games in a row.

Chicago 53, Indiana 37 -- Raymond Philyaw threw four touchdown passes and ran for another to lead the Rush in front of 14,399 in Rosemont, Ill.

Chicago (11-4) clinched the Central Division title for the second time in three years. The loss eliminated the Firebirds from the playoff race.

Philyaw threw two touchdown passes to Jeremy McDaniel and two to Etu Molden.

Molden caught a seven-yard scoring pass late in the third quarter to give the Rush a 39-17 lead.

He also rushed for a touchdown in the fourth quarter.

Adrian McPherson passed for 252 yards and three touchdowns for Indiana (8-8).

Tampa Bay 59, New Orleans 51 -- Shane Stafford completed 22 of 30 passes for 267 yards and six touchdowns to lead the Storm in front of 17,244 in Tampa, Fla.

Freddie Solomon had eight catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns and David Saunders caught three touchdown passes for the Storm.

John Fitzgerald completed 25 of 41 passes for 276 yards and seven touchdowns for the VooDoo.

The Storm (8-7) moved into a tie for the eighth and final playoff spot with New York and Austin.

The VooDoo (10-5), which qualified for the playoffs last week, dropped into a tie for third place with Colorado and Arizona in the Western Conference.

Orlando 65, New York 41 -- Cory Fleming caught three of Joe Hamilton’s four touchdown passes, leading the Predators (9-6) past the Dragons in front of 13,144 in Orlando, Fla.

Aaron Garcia completed 18 of 37 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns and scored twice for the Dragons (8-7), who had clinched first place in the Eastern Division before the loss.

Georgia 51, Austin 34 -- Leon Murray threw five touchdown passes and rushed for another score to lead the Force (6-9) past the Wranglers (8-7) in front of 9,080 in Duluth, Ga.

Murray completed 25 of 26 passes for 216 yards, and teammate Markeith Cooper, who caught two touchdown passes, set a club season record with 22 touchdown receptions.

For Austin, John Kaleo completed 22 of 40 passes for 253 yards and five touchdowns.
