Campbell Soup Co., the world’s biggest soup maker, said fiscal third-quarter profit rose 10%, helped by a legal settlement and currency benefits.
Net income increased to $142 million, or 34 cents a share, from $129 million, or 31 cents, a year earlier, Camden, N.J.-based Campbell said. All of the company’s 4.2% revenue increase, to $1.67 billion, came from the weaker U.S. dollar.
Shares of Campbell fell $1.28, or 4.9%, to $25.12 on the NYSE.
