Police Identify Oxnard Man Shot to Death Saturday

An Oxnard man who was shot and killed Saturday night was identified Thursday by authorities as Jose Garcia Rivera.
Rivera, 27, was shot in the chest in the 200 block of East 5th Street about 9 p.m., Oxnard police said.
The motive remained unknown and there had been no arrests as of Thursday.
Authorities held off releasing Rivera’s name until they notified relatives. On Wednesday, they found Rivera’s sister in Texas.
