Request to Halt Diocese Property Deal Denied

A judge Tuesday denied a request by victims of alleged clergy sexual abuse to void the transfer of property within the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego.
A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge said the attorney for the alleged victims failed to prove that the diocese was trying to hide potential assets from people suing the diocese. A church lawyer said the diocese’s action was part of a deal to finance the construction of a church school.
