Prostitutes Rally for Livelihood, Respect

About 2,800 South Korean sex workers, many of them masked to conceal their identities, chanted slogans outside the National Assembly building in Seoul in an attempt to save their jobs amid a government crackdown.
The crowd shouted, “Guarantee our livelihood!” and waved banners that read, “Treat us as legitimate workers.”
New legislation calls for large fines and up to 10 years in prison for brothel owners who confine women and force them into prostitution.
