Abandoned Building Is Gutted by Fire

Fire gutted an abandoned two-story apartment building in the 3900 block of Imperial Highway on Thursday.
About 60 firefighters arrived about 3:40 p.m., according to Fire Inspector Brian Nicholson.
The building had been abandoned for a number of years, Nicholson said. An investigation into the cause of the fire has been opened.
