* Meredith Rice, Sherman Oaks Notre Dame: Had 27 kills as Notre Dame, ranked No. 5 in Southern Section Division III-A, rallied to defeat No. 8 Woodland Hills Louisville, 23-25, 23-25, 25-23, 27-25, 15-9.

* Rebecca Saraceno, Redondo: Had 16 kills and eight blocks in an 18-25, 25-13, 21-25, 25-22, 15-11 victory over South Torrance. Redondo is ranked No. 1 in Division II-A, South Torrance is No. 4.

GIRLS’ TENNIS

* Melissa Chan and Cindy Kim, Montebello Schurr: Won, 7-6 (4), in the final set to force a 9-9 tie with Alhambra, and Schurr then won on games, 85-73.

* Ilissa Mathews and Alyssa Salgado, Rancho Santa Margarita Tesoro: Swept their doubles sets in a 10-8 upset victory over Laguna Beach, ranked No. 3 in Division I.

GIRLS’ GOLF

* Lauren Smith, Anaheim Esperanza: Shot one-under-par 35 and paced Esperanza to a 210-220 victory over Huntington Beach Marina in a key Sunset League match.
