Great homage to William Shatner [“Shatner: It’s ... His ... Big ... Moment!,” Oct. 7], the man we all secretly love, but may be too ashamed to admit it. But no tribute would be complete without mentioning Shatner’s Promise margarine commercials. Now those were classic.
And Dan Neil omitted his most immortal vocal performance: “Rocket Man,” performed at the 1978 Science Fiction Awards, complete with Shatner smoking a joint and jumping out of his own body as a special-effect twin dancing around, “high as a kite.”
