Man on Tracks Killed by Metrolink Train

A man who was lying on railroad tracks was struck and killed by a Metrolink train early Friday, police said.
The man’s name was not released pending notification of relatives.
The train, which had no passengers, was traveling south between Riverdale and Lincoln avenues about 3 a.m. when the engineer and conductor spotted the man prone on the tracks.
They blew the train’s whistle and tried to stop the train but could not. The man was killed on impact.
