Feeding the Ducks

In response to an Oct. 7 letter, I would like to say that I am the woman in the photo at Ken Mallory Harbor Regional Park who is feeding the ducks and geese. I did not “ignore the no-feeding signs” because there are no such signs. There are no such signs because there is no law against feeding domestic animals.
I am shocked at the statement that I am feeding them bread in the water, where it rots and contributes to botulism. As can be seen by the photo, nobody is in the water and there is no bread to rot. Let me say that during the 2002 summer, botulism was in existence throughout California, in places with bread and places with no bread.
