Experts Can’t Determine How Woman Was Killed

The remains of Lori Hacking, the woman believed to have been killed by her husband and whose body was dumped in the trash, were so broken up by the time police recovered them from a landfill that authorities may never know how she died.
Autopsy findings confirmed Hacking’s identity from dental records, but said experts couldn’t determine the cause of death.
Mark Hacking is being held on $1-million bail pending further court proceedings. He was jailed on a murder charge after allegedly confiding to his brothers that he had shot his wife in the head while she slept.
