Superior Industries’ Profit Drops 49%

Superior Industries International Inc., a Van Nuys-based wheel maker, said that third-quarter net profit fell 49% to $5.5 million, or 20 cents a share, from $10.7 million, or 40 cents, a year earlier. Revenue for the period rose 6.4% to $199.3 million.
Although the company warned last month of the drop, its stock price fell $1.07 to a 52-week low of $26.94 on the New York Stock Exchange.
