Cabrillo Music Theatre will open its performance season with “Annie,” the musical staple based on Harold Gray’s Depression-era comic strip. Brooke Bauersfeld plays the plucky, wide-eyed orphan, who’ll be belting out “The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow” and other familiar fare with orchestral accompaniment.

Punk-pop chronicles
Fresh off the No. 3 sales chart debut of its third album, “The Chronicles of Life and Death,” Good Charlotte holds strong as this season’s most popular purveyor of the punk-pop canon. The Maryland band headlines a raucous bill that also features Sum 41, Hazen Street and Lola Ray.
