Five people were injured Tuesday when a passenger van drove into an adult day care center in Arcadia, according to the Arcadia Fire Department.
The passenger van was driven by an employee of the center at 15 Las Tunas Drive when it crashed into the building, said Beth Stogner, a spokeswoman for the department.
There were no passengers inside the van at the time.
The fire department responded about 2 p.m. Five elderly women who were inside the center sustained minor injuries. One woman experienced chest pains and shortness of breath, and all were taken to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for follow-up, Stogner said.
The driver of the van refused treatment after being examined by paramedics.
Police are conducting an investigation into the cause of the crash, she said.
