A 28-year-old man has died at a hospital after authorities say he got into a fight with two members of his family in Culver City, police said Thursday.
Trinidad Sanchez was involved in a “physical altercation” with family members Wednesday night in the 11600 block of Washington Boulevard, according to a statement from Culver City police.
“As a result of the altercation, Mr. Sanchez became ill and was taken to the hospital by relatives, where he succumbed to his injuries,” the statement said.
Police were called to the hospital about 6:50 a.m. Thursday to investigate the suspicious death. Los Angeles residents Luis Benitez, 27, and Salvino Benitez, 22, were arrested and booked on suspicion of murder, authorities said.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. Police said Sanchez’s exact cause of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County coroner’s office.
