Firefighters battle Pacific Palisades brush fire

Los Angeles firefighters were responding Tuesday afternoon to a brush fire that had scorched about two acres and was burning near structures in Pacific Palisades.
No evacuations had been ordered for the blaze, and the threat to structures was “minimal,” the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
An LAFD spokesman said wind was not a factor. Crews on the ground were being aided by at least one water-dropping helicopter.
The blaze was burning in the hillside near the 14000 block of Pacific Coast Highway.
The fire was reported around 3:15 p.m as dry offshore winds blew across Southern California.
Fire agencies have said dry winds, warm weather and low relative humidity have created extreme wildfire conditions in the region.
