Man shot to death while stopped at a red light in Lancaster

A 34-year-old man sitting in his car at a red light in Lancaster was shot to death Sunday night by a driver who pulled up next to him, authorities said.
The shooting occurred about 8:32 p.m. near West Avenue K and 20th Street West, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
The victim, who was not immediately identified, was reportedly sitting in the driver’s seat of his vehicle while at a red light, facing westbound on West Avenue K when the gunman pulled up alongside him and shot several rounds, according to the Sheriff’s Department.

The shooter, who fled the scene, continued to fire as the victim tried to drive away.
The victim was struck multiple times in the upper torso and was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
