Sports commentator and former NFL player Darren Sharper was arrested Friday in Los Angeles on suspicion of rape, authorities said.
Los Angeles police said the 38-year-old had been linked to sexual assaults that took place in West Los Angeles last October and earlier this month.
Sharper, a resident of Miami Beach, was arrested about 3 p.m., according to police and information posted on the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department website.
He posted $200,000 bail Friday night.
A five-time Pro Bowl selection who played for the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints, Sharper’s latest job was as an analyst for the NFL Network.
He is expected to appear in court Feb. 14.
