A man stabbed 10 times Saturday night near Venice’s famed boardwalk was expected to survive, Los Angeles police said Sunday.
The victim, described as a transient who frequented the area, was attacked near Ocean Front Walk and Breeze Avenue about 10 p.m., Lt. Steve Lurie said.
The exact location and other details remained sketchy Sunday.
“He was walking away from where it happened when people saw him” and called 911, Lurie said.
The man, whose name was not released, underwent surgery and was recovering Sunday, Lurie said. The victim had not provided a good description of his attackers, beyond that it was a group of men, Lurie said, and police had not identified anyone suspected of the crime or a motive.
