Boys’ basketball: Elijah Stewart leads Westchester win with 33 points

There’s little doubt who’s the best player in the City Section after a little more than a month of action. That would be Elijah Stewart of Westchester. He had 33 points in his latest performance, a 101-63 Western League victory over Venice.
Fairfax defeated LACES, 70-33. Lindsey Drew had 14 points and Donald Gipson 12 points. Palisades defeated Hamilton.
In the East Valley League, Poly helf off Grant, 65-61. Cesar Reyes had 22 points and Mario Castaneda 15.
In the West Valley League, Taft defeated Birmingham, 67-50. Damian Wilson had 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. El Camino Real defeated Chatsworth, 61-36. Maleke Hayes had 12 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and eight steals. Kelton Conway also had 12 points and Julian Richardson 11.
Reseda Cleveland defeated Granada Hills, 60-55. Justin Gaither had 21 points. Jason Horosny led Granada Hills with 16 points.
In the Coliseum League, Crenshaw defeated Locke, 71-66.
In the Marine League, Narbonne defeated San Pedro, 56-51. Quincy Thomas scored 30 points for San Pedro.
