Boys’ basketball: Foothill League is looking competitive
- Share via
The Foothill League has long been known for its success in football and baseball, but basketball teams are more than holding their own this season.
League play doesn’t begin until next week, and it should be a competitive league season. Canyon Country Canyon is the big surprise at 15-1. Dean Hendrix-Davis and Ben Taufahema have been having big seasons.
Newhall Hart is 12-1 and considered the league favorite behind guards Lewis Stallworth and Myles Franklin. Valencia is 12-4 and will be tough to beat. Saugus is 9-9 and don’t forget about West Ranch, which is only 5-8 but has played a tough nonleague schedule.
West Ranch gets to host Hart in a league opener on Tuesday night, and its fans could make it a difficult road opener for the Indians.
