Boys’ basketball: Mario Soto hardship appeal is denied

On Friday, former Santa Ana Mater Dei basketball player Mario Soto received bad news. The Southern Section denied his hardship appeal, likely ending his senior season. He transferred to Saddleback Valley Christian and sought immediate eligibility via “individual student safety incidents.”
He cannot appeal to the state CIF. The only other recourse would be to take legal action.
