Boys’ basketball: Stanley Johnson, Thomas Welsh make McDonald’s Game
- Share via
Stanley Johnson of Santa Ana Mater Dei and Thomas Welsh of Los Angeles Loyola have been selected to play for the West team in the McDonald’s All American Game on April 2 at Chicago’s United Center.
Johnson, who signed with Arizona, has been considered the No. 1 player in California. The 7-footer Welsh, a UCLA signee, has made major improvement in the last year and is a bit of rarity to have earned a spot after not being recognized as one of the nation’s best during his junior year.
UCLA also had Kevon Looney, another signee, make the East team.
