Football: Playoff divisions to be announced in March
- Share via
The Southern Section will release its recommendations for new football playoff divisions on March 14, but there’s already rumors about early recommendations. A final decision won’t be voted on by the Southern Section Council until April 30.
Assistant commissioner Glenn Martinez was scheduled to meet with the football advisory committee on Thursday and discuss his early proposals for new divisions, but that meeting was canceled.
One proposal that’s making the rounds is a Pac-5 Division that would remove the South Coast League and replace it with the Big 8, which includes Corona Centennial.
There will be time for appeals and complaints to be addressed, and there still needs to be a resolution of the lawsuit filed by St. Bonaventure, Oaks Christian, St. Lucy’s and Damien against the Southern Section.
