Track: Michael Norman wins the 100, 200 at Inland Empire championships

Michael Norman of Vista Murrieta is never slow when he makes an appearance on the track.
He put on his usual show on Saturday at the Inland Empire championships, winning the 100 meters in 10.28 seconds and the 200 in 20.74. His best times in the events this season are 10.27 and 20.55.
Another top individual performer was Cameron Samuel of Rancho Verde in the hurdles. He won the 110 highs in 14.79 and the 300 intermediate hurdles in 38.11.
At the Orange County championships, Rachel Baxter of Anaheim Canyon set another state record in the girls’ pole vault at 14-3.
Jett Gordon of Marina set a meet record in the boys’ pole vault at 17-1.
Bronson Osborn of Esperanza won the discus at 199-0 and the shotput at 68-8.
