Braves run over Mater Dei, 34-7, for 14-0 record

St. John Bosco defeated Mater Dei, 34-7, and with it captured its first CIF Southern Section crown, taking the Pac-5 Division title at Angel Stadium.
The Braves will move on to next week’s regional bowl game, almost surely in the Open Division. The bowl selections will be released Sunday at 1 p.m.
Josh Rosen completed 8 of 15 passes for 94 yards, Sean Mcgrew rushed for 137 yards and one touchdown, Manasseh Anesi ran for a touchdown and had an interception and Jaleel Wadood had two touchdown catches for the Braves (14-0). Reid Budrovich added field goals of 33 and 29 yards for the Braves, who led, 10-7, at halftime.
Johnny Johnson scored on a blocked punt return early in the second quarter for Mater Dei’s only points.
