Clippers hopeful JJ Redick plays Friday against Lakers

Coach Doc Rivers said shooting guard J.J. Redick “hopefully” will play Friday when the Clippers play host to the Lakers at Staples Center.
That made it the second straight day Rivers seemed optimistic Redick, who has been out recovering from a broken right wrist and torn ligaments on the side of his right wrist, would play, saying before Wednesday night’s game that Redick “has a very good chance of playing Friday.”
Redick declined to speak with the media before the Clippers practiced Thursday, so there was no way of knowing how he is after missing the last 21 games recovering from his injury.
Redick was seen before practice with his right hand taped in black while shooting.
He averaged 15.8 points on 46% shooting, 35.9% shooting from three-point range, in the
first 17 games.
“J.J. hopefully plays tomorrow,” Rivers said Thursday. “So we have one guy back.”
